Atlanta, GA—Dec. 9, 2004–Daniel T. Forsman, president and CEO of Prudential Georgia Realty, was recently honored by the Atlanta Board of Realtors as Realtor of the Year. The award was presented to Forsman by 2004 Atlanta Board president Alice McDonough during the organization’s annual luncheon and meeting Wednesday, December 1, at the Piedmont Driving Club.

Forsman, himself, is the immediate past president of the Atlanta Board of Realtors, having served in that volunteer role in 2003. This year, he continued his involvement and commitment to the Atlanta Board by chairing the Nominating Committee, the Awards Committee, and being responsible for overseeing the board’s educational foundation. Dan was also a key member of a panel responsible for overhauling the organization’s Million Dollar Club qualification process. At the state level, Forsman chaired the Georgia Association of Realtors Strategic Planning Committee.

The Atlanta Board of Realtors has been around for nearly 100 years and currently has more than 6,300 members. This was the 95th Annual Business Meeting for the organization.

“The Realtor of the Year Award has been given to such people as Harry Norman, Jenny Pruitt, and E.A. Isakson, names which have become icons in the Atlanta residential real estate field,” said Forsman. “I am humbled to be placed in the company of such a prestigious list of people.”

Dan Forsman has received other real estate industry accolades in the past. In 2003, he was profiled as Industry Visionary of the Month at a real estate information web site. In 2001, Forsman was the recipient of the Atlanta Board’s Five Star Circle of Service Award and the President’s Award. In 1995, Dan Forsman was awarded the Gordon Brown Excellence Award by Prudential Real Estate Affiliates (PREA). This honor is presented annually to one Prudential broker in North America for his/her exemplary support of referrals and relocation within the company and the Prudential Referral Services network. In 1993, he was named one of the “Top 40 Businessmen Under the Age of 40" by Business Atlanta magazine.

Forsman is a charter member of Prudential’s Broker Quality Circle Council, serves on the Prudential Referral Services Advisory Council and the PREA Technology Advisory Task Force. He has also been an active member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Relocation Council since 1989, where his past involvement includes president, vice president, and treasurer and he serves as a director with the First Multiple Listing Service (FMLS).
